Dr Quigley runs a diabetic annual review clinic on Wednesday and
Thursday afternoons to allow him to provide a thorough assessment of your
diabetes.
There are a number of things that should be done for you
each year. They are time consuming and can't easily be done in normal surgery
appointments.
The clinic is designed to keep a regular watch on your blood
sugar level, cholesterol and blood pressure and provide regular
examination of your feet. By doing this we can prevent or delay many of the
complications of diabetes.
Please make an appointment. If you go much over a year between
appointments you will get a reminder letter. The receptionists can arrange
appointments for you to have a blood test and attend the clinic 1-2 weeks
later.
You also need a (free) annual diabetic eye
check. This now done by local opticians rather than GPs.
