Welcome to Western Road
A long-established teaching practice, we aim to offer the highest standard of patient-centred care while helping to develop the next generation of doctors.
We run clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes, and offer a variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.

GP Online services
Save time – do it online! GP online services give patients the option to book appointments, request repeat prescriptions and view their GP records, using their computer, tablet or smartphone rather than having to phone or visit their practice.
If you are not already registered for GP online services please let a member of the practice team know you would like to use this service
We offer appointments booking/cancellation and repeat prescription services online. To access these please register in the surgery, and bring photo ID with you-driving licence or passport.
We offer GP advice by e-mail, on firstname.lastname@example.org If you contact us we will endeavour to have it answered within 2 working days by the most appropriate doctor or nurse. Please ensure you are happy with confidential information being sent back to the e-mail account you are using. Please don't use e-mail for advice in an emergency.
Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
We use EPS to make collecting prescriptions easier and more convenient for you. The service requires you to ‘nominate’ the chemist of your choice to receive your electronic prescription. This could save you a trip to the surgery to collect a prescription.

CCG Prescribing Changes July 2017
Changes are being introduced to what we will be able to prescribe. So that we can protect funding for the most essential NHS services for local people – things like emergency and cancer care – maternity and mental health services, your local NHS has stopped funding and prescribing some medicines and procedures.
Read the full guidelines and changes here.
Travel Vaccinations: For the foreseeable future we are unable to offer any new travel vaccine appointments. Travel vaccine clinics are available at several local pharmacies.

Friends & Family Test
Would you recommend our service to your friends and family? Please click here to complete the questionnaire
The NHS friends and family test (FFT) is an important opportunity for you to provide feedback on the services that provide your care and treatment. Your feedback will help NHS England to improve services for everyone.
Your answer is voluntary. But if you do answer, your feedback will provide valuable information for your hospital to celebrate good practice, and identify opportunities to make improvements.
Call 111 when you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency.
