Emergency and routine appointmentsFor routine problems we have 10-minute appointments that can be booked in advance. For urgent problems we have 5-minute slots, made available on the day. We don’t guarantee seeing a named doctor. For working people we have evening appointments Mon-Wed, and every 4th Saturday. Speaking to a doctor or nurse on the phoneThere are times when a problem can be dealt with quickly over the phone rather than having to wait weeks for an appointment. We have introduced an appointment system for telephone consultations. If you give the receptionist a contact number the doctor will call you. Home visitsA doctor does visits every weekday morning between 09.00-11.00. To discuss a visit please ring, if possible, before 09.30.The home visiting service is provided at the doctors’ discretion. We ask you, please if you possibly can, to attend the surgery where we can make a better assessment of you. NHS Havering now provides an emergency home visiting service staffed by paramedics and nurses. If you request a visit we may feel it appropriate to ask them to see you. Out of hours servicesAlong with the vast majority of British GPs (and all GPs locally) we are not contracted to provide out-of-hours care. If you need a doctor between 18.30 and 08.30 our telephone system will direct you to the Primary Care Centre atQueen’s Hospital. The staff there will arrange for you to be seen at the PCC or, if need be, at home by the visiting doctor.
